Devon was a Finder of the European Branch of the Black Order.
Appearance
Devon was a middle-aged man with spiky dark hair and a goatee.
Personality
Devon was kind and warm-hearted, quickly bonding with Allen and Lenalee after meeting them.
Plot
Allen and Lenalee are wandering in the European countryside, starving. They meet Devon and his unit traveling from Germany on their way to Barcelona; Devon provides them with a warm meal and says that Allen's eating habits remind him of his younger self. Apparently Devon had heard about Allen from Jeryy.
The next day they arrive at the nearest town and Devon Unit says farewell to the Exorcists. However, they are quickly surrounded by a crowd of Akuma and send up a flare for help. Allen and Lenalee return and dispatch the Akuma, but not before Devon is cornered by a Level 2. His quick thinking with the barrier talisman aids in their victory. In appreciation for their help, Devon makes Allen and Lenalee some special sandwiches.
After arriving in Barcelona, Devon reports to the Finder in charge of its defense, Giscone, and receives instructions to guard the harbor area. However, once the Akuma attack the harbor comes under heavy fire by Akuma. They are surrounded and call the command center only to hear there's no one available to help. The Akuma fire upon Devon and his Finder colleague. Just then, the boat with Kanda, Daisya and Marie arrives, but it is sadly too late to help Devon. He succumbs to the Akuma virus and passes away.
Devon's remains are put inside a coffin with all the other Finders. Allen and Lenalee arrive in Barcelona and hear the news of Devon's passing from another Finder. His remains are sent to Order HQ with the other casualties. After being displayed in the chapel they are cremated and buried at HQ.
Later in Bulgaria, Allen and Lenalee reflect on Devon and losing him in the recent battle in Barcelona.
